The walk up to Vemork
It is about 800 metres to walk from the car park to the museum. 
You can choose whether to follow the road or use the paths and stairs. Some of the slopes may be a bit steep, but it is a pleasant walk of about 20 minutes through a beautiful industrial and natural environment.

Shop
Would you like a souvenir from Vemork? In the museum shop, we have a wide selection that is perfect for both yourself and as a gift.

Parking
The way to access Vemork is to drive to parking lot by the Vemork bridge and walk up to the museum on the other side of the bridge.

 

Tour Buss
Tour buses park at the parking area near Vemorkjuvet and are not permitted to drive across the suspension bridge.

Food and drinks
From June 1st to November 1st the cafe is open every day. From November 2nd to May 31st the cafe is closed, and only opens for group lunch reservations.

In the cafe you can enjoy a delicious lunch or coffee and cake with a spectacular view at Café Vemork located on the 2nd floor of the building. They serve a variety of hot and cold dishes, along with a wide selection of drinks.

We encourage large groups to contact preorder if you plan to eat at the museum. For group lunch reservations throughout the year, please contact us at +47 35 09 90 00.

Accessibility
Due to extensive roadworks between Vemork suspention bridge and the museum entrance, we ask you to show extra caution. Please call in advance on +47-35099000, if you are a guest with mobility challenges needing to use your own car to our entrace. Road works will end during the Norwegian national holiday «Fellesferien», from appr. July 4th.

There is an entrance ramp at the museum. All floors of Vemork are equipped with elevators. All texts in the exhibitions are written in both Norwegian and English.

Carers are admitted to the museum free of charge upon presentation of carer certificate.

During the summer and fall season, a private and air conditioned dog den awaits your best friend during at Vemork. Ask for instructions in the reception and we will help you.
